Electrotherapy or Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation or Tens unit is a drug-free, non-invasive therapy designed to temporarily reduce and relieve muscle and joint pain, stiffness and numbness in the arms, legs, feet and lower back by applying electrical nerve stimulation to the surface of the skin near the site of the pain.

If you need Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS), then Don Valley Health & Wellness – Physiotherapy & Sports Rehabilitation Centre located on the corner of Pape and Danforth near Danforth Village, Riverdale and East York can help.

Most health insurance plans cover TENS units.  Speak with a Don Valley Health and Wellness clinician or other members of staff for more information. You can also visit and shop our online store for TENS units.
