Custom Made Orthotic Insoles

When our feet hurt, it limits our ability to move comfortably and, in fact, impacts our quality of life. Custom orthotic devices help align the foot and ankle back into an optimal anatomic position, alleviating discomfort from various temporary and chronic conditions.

Like insoles, prescribed orthotics correct your unique foot imbalance and are fully customized to improve your mobility and reduce pain.  Custom orthotics shift the strain on your feet for proper weight distribution by re-balancing the body's position.

At Don Valley Health and Wellness , our therapists will determine the origin of your issue and then take an imprint of your feet to create your custom orthotics that slip comfortably into your shoes.

Orthotic insoles are beneficial for:

  • Plantar fasciitis
  • Overpronation and Supination
  • High foot arches
  • Flat feet
  • Bunions
  • Heel Spurs
  • Calluses and foot corns
  • Stress Fractures

Injuries can be difficult to recover from, requiring additional reinforcement in the affected area. Custom-fitted orthopedic braces help restore strength and prevent further damage by supporting the body by holding alignment correctly.

Orthopedic braces combine rigid and flexible materials to create structure and support with additional foam or padding for comfort and positioning. After reviewing your condition, our medical team will determine the best method to support your recovery and build a customized orthopedic brace according to your needs.

Don Valley Health and Wellness provides top-quality restorative orthopedic braces to ensure optimal results for our clients.

Orthopedic bracing can assist with the following conditions:

  • Osteoarthritis
  • Pre and Post Surgery
  • Treatment of repetitive stress injuries (i.e., Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or Tennis Elbow)
  • Support during activities
  • Prevention of injury

Compression Stockings

Achy, swollen legs and ankles are common for people, yet the cause stems from various conditions. Support and graduated compression stockings have proven to provide relief for temporary and ongoing issues related to leg pain. Yet, there is a significant difference between the two.

Support stockings prevents the development of circulation issues in the legs and reduces the discomfort from tired, aching legs. While they add compression, it is dispersed evenly throughout the garment's length. Support stockings provide relief; however, it is not as strong as graduated compression stockings.

Graduated compression stockings differ from support stockings by providing the most significant compression at the ankle, then gradually decreasing further up the garment. Graduated compression stockings are a therapeutic garment to improve the effects of venous insufficiency or edema.

Compression stockings are beneficial for:

  • Varicose veins
  • Deep vein thrombosis
  • Aches and pains from standing for long periods
  • Leg swelling related to pregnancy

TENS Machine

Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) uses electric current to stimulate the nerves for therapeutic purposes.

Aches and pains detract from enjoying a healthy, quality lifestyle. Finding non-medical solutions to pain relief has many benefits to your overall wellbeing.

TENS is a non-invasive, low-risk nerve stimulation intended to reduce acute and chronic pain. The unit connects to the skin in the affected area using two or more electrodes.

TENS machines are beneficial for:

  • Reducing pain in joints, muscles, and nerves
  • Easing tension in joints, muscles, and nerves
  • Management of chronic pain symptoms
