We handle the paperwork so you can focus on your recovery. We direct bill most extended health insurance plans, WSIB, and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) insurers. We do not bill OHIP.

Recovery Program

Motor Vehicle Accident patients follow a structured treatment program, typically twice per week, with an expected timeline of approximately four and a half months. Our large team of practitioners gives you flexible scheduling options throughout your program.

Rooms

Massage therapy sessions are conducted as private one-on-one appointments. Physiotherapy and Chiropractic sessions begin with a private assessment, followed by guided modalities and exercises in our gym area with the support of a physical therapist assistant.

  • Do I need a referral to book an appointment at Don Valley Health and Wellness?

    No referral is required for most of our services, including physiotherapy, chiropractic, and massage therapy in Don Valley Health and Wellness. You can book directly through our online booking system or by calling us. If your insurer requires a referral for coverage purposes, we recommend checking with them before your first visit.

  • Does Don Valley Health and Wellness offer direct billing to insurance?

    We offer direct billing to most extended health plans, WSIB, and Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) insurers. We do not bill OHIP. If you are unsure whether we work with your plan, call us before your appointment and we will confirm your coverage.

  • What should I expect at my first physiotherapy appointment at Don Valley Health and Wellness?

    At Don Valley Health and Wellness, your first visit begins with a one-on-one assessment with your physiotherapist or chiropractor in a private room. After the assessment, you will typically move to our gym area for modalities and guided exercises with the support of a physical therapist assistant. For massage therapy, your entire session is conducted as a private one-on-one appointment.

  • How long does an MVA treatment program typically take?

    Our Motor Vehicle Accident program is structured around twice-weekly visits and typically spans approximately four and a half months. If you can only attend once per week, the program may extend to six months or more. Our team will work with your schedule and help coordinate your physiotherapy and chiropractic sessions to keep your recovery on track.

  • Where is Don Valley Health and Wellness located, and who do you serve?

    We are located in East York, Toronto, near the Don Valley Parkway. We serve the surrounding community including patients from Flemingdon Park, Thorncliffe Park, and the broader East York area. We are not a mobile or home-visit clinic; all services are provided at our East York location.
