Social work is concerned with individual and personal problems but also with broader social issues such as poverty, unemployment and domestic violence.
A psychologist studies how we think, feel and behave from a scientific viewpoint and applies this knowledge to help people understand, explain and change their behaviour. A practising psychologist is trained to assess and diagnose problems in thinking, feeling and behaviour and to help people overcome or manage these problems.
